MP to Host ‘Biggest Ever’ Post-16 Education and Skills Fair

Margot James MP will host her biggest and most diverse Education and Skills Fair next week on Thursday 28th March.

The event, which will feature 40 organisations, takes place at Thorns Collegiate Academy between 4.30pm and 6pm and will, for the first time, include apprenticeship and training providers and colleges as well as universities.

Organisations like King Edwards College, University of Birmingham and the London School of Economics will be in attendance to provide help and support related to their courses, and apprenticeship providers such as Dudley College, QA Apprenticeships and Nova Training, will be on hand to discuss apprenticeships and the ‘earn as you learn’ model.

Margot James MP said:

“I am thrilled to be holding my latest post-16 fair at Thorns Collegiate Academy. I believe that the opportunities available for people to continue their education, training or indeed to enter the field of work are more diverse than ever before – so I have aimed to reflect that in my event next week.

“My Aspiration Stourbridge programme holds events like these every year, but this is the first time my Education and Skills Fair will feature apprenticeship and training providers as well as universities. My hope is that with the huge range of organisations on hand to talk to local young people – 40 at last count – there will really be something for everyone.”

Admission to the event is free, and the full list of attendees can be viewed on Margot’s Facebook page at
